4WD Cape York 18-day Expedition - QLD
Cape York is one of Australia’s few remaining large wilderness areas, with few inhabitants or facilities. Access is by dirt road, air, or (along the coast) sea. The eastern edge is rainforest, but west of the Great Dividing Range the land is mainly eucalypt woodland, scrubland and grasslands. The numerous rivers vary from almost dry in the dry season (May-November) to overflowing in the wet season (December-April), when the road to the Cape becomes impassable.
Starting in a small convoy of 4WD vehicles from Cairns, you make your way toward the famous marker at the most northerly point of the Australian mainland. Along the way passing through beautiful rainforest and native bushland and crossing numerous rivers. Few places in Australia can match the beauty of Torres Strait and its islands. Your fully qualified and experienced personal tour guides are at your side throughout your entire journey. Bring your own 4WD or hire one.
