Aerobatics is the ultimate roller coaster ride, flying upside down, spiralling towards the earth, looping the loop and barrel rolling across the sky. Your aerobatics flight pilot will introduce you to an aviation adventure that most don't even dare dream about, including a full routine of loops, rolls, stalls and dives - and to share the experience with a friend as they fly feet away from your own aircraft in perfect formation!

Your aircraft for the aerobatics formation flight is a Pitts Special Biplane, a World War One-style open cockpit aircraft. Your aerobatics flight is a vigorous, full aerobatics routine involving high g-forces and mind-blowing manoeuvres. In the Pitts Special you'll experience an aerobatics flight in tandem with a friend, who will execute perfectly coordinated maneuvers opposite you.

This aerobatics flight is not for the faint hearted, although it can be tamed down if you don’t have iron guts. Due to the high performance, aerobatics-centred nature of the Pitts Special, you won't be asked to take control at any stage, just to sit back and enjoy a wild aerobatics ride! The aerobatics flight is 40 minutes, but the total adventure is a little over an hour in duration.

Blue skies Nic From the moment I walked through the Red Baron doors, I was welcomed and made to feel comfortable. Their organisation was flawless as well as their professionalism and courtesy. That aside, the flying was incredible. Had the time of my life. Joel is an awesome pilot and made the whole experience something I will never forget. Unreal - go flying with these guys. I'm still excited when I think about Sunday morning. I don't think I ever wanted to come back to terra firma - I could have stayed with those clouds for much, much longer. I love the sky! I love aerobatics! And finally I’ve flown in a Pitts Special. My flight in the Pitts Special with you was nothing short of exhilarating. From the moment we took off I was smiling with the broadest grin. Then when we started the aerobatics: inverted flight, loops, barrel rolls, spins, tail slides (one of my favourites!), hammerheads and other manoeuvres that I cannot even remember the names of - I was just having a ball. I couldn’t stop laughing, clapping and was being totally enthralled. But the best was yet to come!! Those powder puff clouds that had started to form around the flight training area. It WAS like our own private Red Bull Air Race when you started to race around these and perform aerobatics around them. When I think about it now I get goose bumps - it was such a beautiful visual sensation and the cloud changes your whole perception of relativity and speed. This is one of the memorable experiences I have ever had (and I've had some adventures!!) and I would say the best aerobatic experience ever thanks to those clouds and to the pilot who showed me just how much fun they are. Thanks!

Fitness and Experience

There is no need for any previous flying experience with any of the flights
A desire for adrenalin pumping fun and good health is all you need to take to the skies near Bankstown
The passenger flying must be in good physical condition, and be less than 190cm and 100kg
These physical requirements are only due to the physical size and weight restrictions of the front seat in the aircraft
If you are under 18, you must have parental consent
If you have a physical disability please let us know in advance so we can make sure to have all the facilities the passenger might require

What to Bring/Wear

Loose comfortable clothing suitable to the weather on the day
Wear sturdy, enclosed shoes
Sunglasses are helpful as the glare off clouds can be quite severe
A windproof jacket and scarf (optional and not required in summer)
Bring your camera for ground shots with the plane
Hair tie for long hair

Weather:
As long as the cloud isn’t too low and it’s not raining you will be able to fly.
When can I fly?
Weekends are most popular but we run any day of the week at your request.
Times are as follows: 8am, 9.30am, 11.00am, 12.30pm, 2.00pm, 3.30pm.

Passengers are not permitted to carry anything on the flight as loose objects may be dropped into the aircraft and jam a flight control. If you want to bring a camera it must have a camera strap. Compact cameras are preferred. A DVD of your flight is available upon request for an additional $129.00. If you would like this please make a note under additional information on your booking form.
