  • You will finish the session with confidence to replicate the dishes at home as well as being well-equipped with those key competencies to cook different types of dishes.

Combine your love of American style smoking and BBQ cooking in this class, ensuring your family will proclaim that you hold the “best barbies EVER”.

Gain an understanding of the 4 main BBQ regions of the United States and the differences between them. Learn how to use charcoal/wood in smoking/cooking meats. Get tips on the “low and slow” method of BBQing. Unlock the secrets of amazing dry rubs and sauces. This hands-on session will explain how to prepare and cook a delicious gourmet BBQ which will have your guests asking you how you achieve such perfection!

On arrival at the session, you will be provided with a cold beer and an apron before being welcomed by our Chefs who will outline expected competencies from the session, discuss the format of the day and introduce the menu which includes:

We get straight into the demonstration and all participants are integral in the production, management and serving of all dishes. The group then sit down together to share in their first creation.

We then embark on to our next course covering BBQ myths and secrets, and we work together via an initial demonstration to achieve our next course together. All participants then get involved in the BBQing process. We will send you home knowing that you're a qualified BBQ Meat Chef and will be crowned in glory by friends and family when you entertain at home.

More Information

Lessons are attended by between 12-20 students (plus 2 experienced chefs) and take place usually from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

The class includes all ingredients, light refreshments and a fantastic meal to enjoy together. The classes are both a demonstration and hands on experience to ensure you have the confidence to replicate the dishes at home. 

This experience is best enjoyed as a participant. To ensure maximum space and comfort of booked guest we do not have spectators for this experience.
