This guided walk caters for those looking for a walking and camping experience with the creature comforts! Your bags will be carried for you every day so that you can walk with just a small day pack. In this secluded area, your nights will be spent camping under the stars in walk-in touring tents with off the ground beds and enjoy gourmet meals as well wine, beer or refreshments.

Fitness and Experience

  • This walk is suitable for those who are looking for a walking / hiking holiday experience
  • A good level of fitness is needed to complete this walk with much of the walk on firm sand
  • Please note: The level of difficulty of this walk can change daily dependent on high tide times

What to Bring/Wear

Your Overnight Pack should include:

Clothes:

* Tasmania's weather is extremely variable even though you will be walking in summer, temperatures can change dramatically throughout this season. We suggest wearing layers when you are walking that you can remove or add as you warm up or cool down. Ensure you bring full weather gear.
* Walking clothes suitable to weather: light cotton trousers or shorts, t'shirts, shirts or
* Long sleeves. Proper bushwalking tshirts made from wool are ideal.
* Polar fleece jacket (preferred) or woollen jumper
* Thermal underwear
* Gear to change into at night, warm long pants, long sleeve shirt, shorts or tshirts
* Warm gear for night, scarf, beanie, gloves
* 3 pairs of good thick walking socks
* A pair of shoes to change into at night
* Underwear
* Lightweight lace-\up walking boots or walking shoes with ankle support and treaded soles. Make sure you walk in your shoes at least 4 weeks prior to the walk.

Other Items:

* Insect repellent Bedding: Tassie weather is unpredictable and it could get extremely cool at night ¨C we advise no matter which month you are travelling to always bring a sleeping bag to ensure you stay warm, (these can be pre-hired from us for $28 if you do not have your own - when booking your tour or later through our equipment hire page). In hot weather if you do not want to use your sleeping bag you may like to also bring a set of single sheets (We will provide pillows and pillow cases). Personal toiletries: deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush or comb towel Strong garbage bags or dry bags to waterproof essential equipment Note: Standard Package People who will be carrying their own gear will need to bring a lightweight tent & mattress.

Your Day pack should include:

All participants must carry and/or wear the following personal equipment:

* Small backpack designed for bushwalking; suitable for the anticipated duration and loads
* band-aids
* camera
* hat
* Personal emergency medication e.g. Ventolin
* Gortex or lightweight rain jacket preferably made of a waterproof and breathable fabric and if possible waterproof pants
* A headtorch or lightweight torch with spare batteries and globe
* sun glasses - as there can be quite a bit of glare off the sand on sunny days
* sun screen
* water bladder or container with two litres of water
* swimmers / bathers (if you wish to swim at the beach)
* Plastic mug for tea and coffee on the track

What is Supplied

  • All meals, return transfers to Launceston
  • Beer, wine, soft drinks
  • Accommodation in walk-in tents with off the ground beds, all camping equipment
  • You will need to bring your own sleeping bag or hire from us for $28 per person
  • Flights to Launceston are not included in your package please arrange these through Virgin Blue or Jetstar
