Decked out in overalls, helmets and headlights, looking somewhat like a miner this adventure begins with a safety and equipment briefing! The anticipation and excitement builds as your group and guides walk through the vast archway of the Devil’s Coachhouse, northward into the McKeowns valley to one of the most beautiful of Jenolan's caves, the Aladdin. Discovered in 1897 and used as a show cave until the 1940’s, with some of the most beautiful formations to be seen at Jenolan. The cave is semi-developed in the lower sections and some climbing is involved in the upper areas. Aladdin boasts an extraordinary display of colour and decoration in its lower chambers. Crawl commando style through the upper sections, traverse across muddy cave walls and slip down a natural slide in the playground of this active cave. Climb, stretch, scamper and dodge your way through stalagmite and stalactites that have formed over thousands upon thousands of years. After surfacing from the Aladdin, readjust to the concept of sunlight and hike back down the mountainside. The adventure is approximately three hours of serious fun.

The guys from the Jenolan Caves were professional, friendly and full of interesting info about the caves and the surrounding area. They really made the day in Aladdin cave as enjoyable as possible and we will definitely be returning to tackle the Mammoth Cave in a few months time!!

You know that you have had serious amounts of fun caving when: (a) you have come out of the cave...hiked back to the bus....and upon your return are walking around beanieless, gloveless; and (b)you wake up the next day...you can't move and you still brag to anyone you know that you will go back and do the whole thing again!

This caving trip was amazing! We have been caving before, but this trip offered something different to the others. The aladin cave was beautiful and alot of fun to explore.

The Jenolan Caves are a leisurely two hour drive from Penrith. The entrance is astounding and just a taste of the awe-inspiring surrounds in which you are about to be immersed. This is the perfect day out for adventurers, family and friends with facilities including a scenic BBQ and picnic area, the ideal outdoor setting to recap your adventures and replenish your energy stores or take advantage of the ‘Caves House’ to satisfy your hunger with a hot meal. WEATHER: Caving goes ahead rain, hail or shine as it is all underground exploration! Extreme fires and floods are the only enemies, but in general, the gig is on unless we call you. Maximum number of 12 participants per tour.
