Whether your choice of vehicle is a small sedan, a large family mover, a sports car or a four wheel drive, training in defensive driving is relevant, enjoyable, and will far improve your skills and ability levels. Young drivers are strongly encouraged to develop better on-road defensive driving skills and more solid techniques, but more experienced drivers also benefit enormously from advanced driver training, including the correction of old habits and improving judgement and reactions.

This one-day Defensive Driving Course Perth Level 1 course is suited to all drivers of regular passenger vehicles, including four-wheel drives and light commercial vehicles. The mix of practical and theoretical components of this advanced driver training session deliver actual on-road safety skills that underpin proactive driving.

The WA Defensive Driving Courses provide a combination of practical and interactive class sessions in actual on road safety skills. They are specially designed to educate drivers of the risks associated with driving, and skills needed to avoid accidents. The courses encourage proactive driving aimed at improving community road safety.

This kind of course should be Mandatory for any young person who has just got thier license, I believe it would save alot of parents much angst!! Very good for a re-fresher course for those of us who have develloped some less-than-favourable habits, plus getting up-dates on the latest driving techniques and technology.

Fitness and Experience

The Level 1 course is suited to drivers of regular passenger vehicles (including four wheel drives and light commercial vehicles)
All participants must present their current driver's licence ('P' plate or above) in order to participate
No particular level of fitness or experience is required

What to Bring/Wear

Your current driver’s licence
Your vehicle with a full tank of fuel, optimal tyre pressures, water and oil levels
Wear comfortable casual clothing according to the weather
Wear footwear that has a thin sole eg. joggers. Bulky shoes, high heels or climbing boots are not optimal driving shoes
It is a good idea to bring along a hat, sunscreen and the Aerogard if it is hot, or an umbrella if it’s raining
Lunch
Do not bring family or friends as spectators are not permitted

More Information

The 8-hour Stage 1 and 2 Advanced Driving courses commence at 8.45am and conclude at approximately 4.30pm. Two drivers per vehicle is acceptable, course cost is per person.

You will learn:

how vehicles perform in an emergency
to evaluate your own level of skill in day to day emergencies
to Improve decision making and perceptual skills
how to develop a positive attitude towards defensive driving

While trialing your new techniques, it's comforting to know that all you may hit are our soft plastic traffic cones. After completing this program drivers are eligible to attend the Defensive Driving Program Level 2.
