Fitness and Experience

• People with high blood pressure may not be able to participate in this activity and there are also other limiting physical factors such as height and weight restrictions

• You will need to arrange a Visa, travel insurance and there will be security clearance forms to complete to allow access to the airbase – these forms need to be submitted at least 60 days in advance of your scheduled MIG flight

What is Supplied

• Visa support (invitation documentation)
• Preparation of official clearances to visit "Sokol" Aviation Plant and perform the flight onboard a jet fighter

More Information

Itinerary Overview 

Day one: Arrive in Nizhny Novgorod via Frankfurt or Vienna or the Russian city of Kaliningrad. You will be met by our company representative & interpreter and escorted to city’s best hotel the 4-star Alexandrovsky Garden Hotel (or the 4-star Nikol Hotel).

Day two: After breakfast at the hotel you will be taken to the Nizhny Novgorod Sokol Aviation Plant where you will be prepared for your flight in a Russian MiG 29 fighter jet. Preparation will include a brief health examination, a meeting and conference with the fighter pilot, and your preflight briefing on the rules of conduct and safety measures during the flight. Then, you will change into a special high-altitude pressure suit (for the flight to the Edge of Space) you will also be instructed on correct usage of the oxygen mask during the flight. Then you will be transferred to the airstrip. Once there, you will make a preflight inspection of the aircraft, together with the pilot and then taken to the cockpit. Finally, your long desired supersonic flight to the stratosphere begins!

On completion of the flight, you may take photographs with the pilot in front of the aircraft and you will receive a personal performance certificate of the flight onboard the MiG-29 fighter-jet. Finally, you will visit the Sokol Plant’s Aviation Museum. After finishing all activities at Sokol and the MiG-29 flight, you will return to the hotel where you can take it easy from your adrenalin-filled day. Following your tour, you will have an evening dinner in a Russian restaurant with your guide.

Day three: This is a back-up day for the flight just in case there was bad weather on the previous day. You’ll enjoy a private tour around Nizhny Novgorod in the company of our guide-translator. Following your tour you dine in one of the local restaurants.

Day four: You will check-out from the hotel (before 12.00). Then our company representative will escort you to Nizhny Novgorod International Airport from which you will depart from Russia.
