This fully-guided day tour begins and ends aboard a luxury catamaran, before boarding a 1400hp fast boat for a to 50-kilometre exploration of Bruny Island’s coast and the remote Southern Ocean.

Once you've boarded the fast power boat, you'll experience the sheer adrenalin rush of high speed tour cruising as the Adventure hugs South Bruny Island’s ancient coastline. From the vessel you will see great cliffs, dramatic rock formations rising from the sea and mystical sea caves carved by the ocean.

This day tour offers intimate encounters with an abundance of wildlife including colonies of cormorants, tiny darting penguins, soaring white-bellied sea eagles, graceful albatross and dolphins and migrating whales. The Southern Ocean provides an up-close encounter with a colony of Australian fur seals. Your tour skipper will take you into the heart of the remote Friars colony, to observe these extraordinary animals in their natural habitat, including live vision from the tour vessel’s undersea cameras.

Following this, you’ll return to Hobart on board the luxury catamaran with a well-earned gourmet lunch of fresh regional produce. You'll break the return journey with a visit to Peppermint Bay, where you can spend time ashore reflecting on your day with a glass of wine overlooking the bay.

This was the most amazing experience from the time we left Hobart to stepping back on the wharf on our return. The operators really know their stuff right down to handwarmers when it gets cold . WELL DONE

This was an incredible day trip. To start, i was worried about were i could park as we had a hire car and we were not staying in town, we went see the girls at the tour desk, they gave a voucher to get all day parking near the Salamanca Markets for only $8. One of my concerns with this trip was my wife is the kind who gets sick looking at a boat. This had me worried, but at 8:30 am you board a luxury catamaran. The really happy and smiley staff make you a beautiful espresso coffee and you can nibble on a bikky while you sail out on the flat Derwent River. The staff communicated excellently the history of the region. We alighted at Bruny Island and got on a little bus, stopping at all these boutique places, picking up supplies for our lunch. At Adventure bay, you get onto a v16 jet boat and cruise out around the southern tip of Bruny and down into the Southern Ocean. It was AMAZING!!! The boat goes fast, and there was no time for my wife to even start feeling sick. The boat trip goes for about 2.5 hours but you see so much, it was well worth it. We got to speed over 2m swell in the Southern Ocean, see about 300 + fur seals, plus absolutely amazing country. The lunch was 5 star, fresh and local everything including; smoke salmon, local cheese, fudge, free wine and AMAZING oysters. The cruise back to Hobart gave a great outlook of the city and the hobart bridge. YOU HAVE MISSED OUT IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS TRIP! a special thank you to: Tom and Ben, you made the day! So into the history of hobart and bruny, great local knowledge of the area and overall absolute assets to their company.

All in all our family had an enjoyable weekend in hobart and we all benefited from the cruise which was lovely of them to offer that to us complementry as a way of appologising for the inconveniernce, and we still get to do the wildlife adventure further down the track for my dads 60th birthday which was the reason for the adventure in the first place.
