Fitness and Experience

• Fitness/Flexibility: This expedition can include situations such as tricky island landings, entry/exit from the cages. Even just manoeuvring though the ships stairways and bulkheads can sometimes be challenging to those with restricted movement. We will however happily try to assist any passenger to overcome such difficulties wherever possible
• Non-Divers, who sign a declaration that they are physically fit and participate successfully in an onboard instructional briefing, can SCUBA dive in the surface cages!
• Diver Qualification if you wish to upgrade to a ocean floor dive: Basic entry level or “Open Water” SCUBA certification allows for all surface and bottom diving activities
• If you have any medical concerns, please inform Adrenalin at the time of booking so that we can accommodate you on the tour

What to Bring/Wear

• Warm clothing – clothing available for purchase on board
• Comfortable flat shoes
• Dive certification card if you have one (divers must show qualification to participate in the ocean floor cage dive)
• Dive gear can be hired onboard, see website for more info
• Camera underwater still and video cameras available for hire
• Sunglasses – polarized recommended
• Batteries – for cameras
• Sunscreen and hats
• Personal medical and toiletries
• Seasickness tablets

What is Supplied

• Swim with Australian sea lions at Hopkins Island
• Evening shore party along a remote coastline
• Surface Cage Diving
• Ocean Floor Shark Cage Diving (for certified divers only)
• Boat tour with our tender around the coasts and into the crevasses of the Neptune Islands to see the fur seal colonies up close
• Great White Shark Research and Biology talk
• Optional Involvement in current shark research programs
• Quiz and games Night
• Selected special trip dates with heavier emphasis on research and photography

Expedition Itinerary:

Day 1: Meet either at Marina Hotel for dinner at 7.30PM or at Princess II at 9PM; boat safety briefs and sleep onboard
Day 2: Early AM departure for seal swim at Hopkins Island (weather permitting) or straight to the Neptune Islands for shark viewing and diving. Research talk in the evening
Day 3: Full day at Neptune Islands for shark viewing and diving plus tour in tender boat
Day 4: Full day on location with arrival back to Port Lincoln approx. 10PM, stay onboard
Day 5: Continental breakfast and disembark by 9AM 

Guest Information
Guests should arrive at the Marina Hotel by 7.30PM. There will be a table booked under ‘Rodney Fox’ and if you have not eater, you can order a delicious counter meal (please note this is at your own expense.) Rodney Fox crew will meet you between 7.30 – 8.00PM. You and your luggage will then be transferred to Princess II by 9PM. Please note that this is a convenient but not ‘official’ meeting place and although the reception staff will be happy to hold your bags for you, please save all your sharky and expedition questions for the crew!

More Information

All guests are encouraged to participate in our surface cage dives by simply breathing air from a surface fed air supply. Our dive masters gently, patiently encourage and guide all new divers!

Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions is the only operation in the world to take qualified SCUBA divers all the way to the ocean floor to see great white sharks. Here on the bottom of the Southern Ocean we enjoy vastly superior shark viewing opportunities, as well as being surrounded with other local sea life, including the world's largest stingrays, southern eagle rays, giant blue wrasse, and many other fish species found nowhere else.

During the expedition, guests are encouraged to enjoy our boat tour of the scenic Neptune Islands, where a wonderful variety of wildlife, including many birds, dolphins, fur seals and the rare Australian sea lion are commonly seen.

En route to the Neptune Islands (weather depending) we also stop off to snorkel with the beautiful and photogenic Australian sea lions. These cute and playful marine mammals are a highlight in their own right!

We strive to make each and every great white shark expedition a comprehensive and ultimately satisfying adventure for every special guest. We like to show our passengers a real taste of South Australia's remote natural beauty, a taste of our local wonderful food and wine, all while staying out on location, living onboard the Princess II, our comfortable liveaboard home.

Please note that all activities are weather dependant. We strongly advise you arrange travel insurance. Payment can be made onboard with cash or credit card (not AMEX) for incidentals, merchandise, dive gear/camera hire etc.
