Equally thrilling and relaxing, a hot-air ballooning adventure is a romantic and unforgettable experience – especially over the beautiful city of Melbourne. Depending on the wind direction you may make a tranquil hot-air balloon flight over the CBD and the Yarra River, or over the inner suburbs, parks and gardens. The still morning air makes flying conditions perfect during what is known in the hot-air ballooning industry as the "weather window", a gloriously peaceful time over an often hectic city.

The hot-air ballooning journey begins with a briefing by the pilot before you head to the launch site and, if you like, help prepare the hot-air balloon for flight. Thirty minutes later you'll be drifting gracefully over the countryside. The hot-air ballooning flight itself will last around one hour.

The icing on the cake is a sumptuous Champagne breakfast at the Sofitel Hotel - the perfect way to toast your hot-air ballooning adventure. The Sofitel Hotel is also the meeting point for the adventure, although pick-ups are available at all major hotels/motels within the CBD.

Thank you to Adrenalin & Picture this Ballooning for supplying my Hot Air Balloon ride last Sunday 29th January. We took off from Bundoora & flew over to Kew landing a perfect "10". This was a christmas gift & would say to everyone put this on your "Bucket LIst"The breakfast was delicious back at the Sofitel afterwards.

I would recommend Adrenalin to everybody. I have already told workmates, family and friends that they must do at least one thing with you guys just to experience the professional way to get an adrenalin adventure. I look forward to going to see my husband drive a V8 around calder raceway at the end of july which was booked with you guys.

Fitness and Experience

No particular level of fitness or experience is required but you must be able to stand up for the duration of the flight (approximately 1 hour)
If you have any special dietary requirements for the champagne breakfast, such as a vegetarian diet, please ensure you mention this on the booking form
Minimum age 7 and minimum height 130 cm

What to Bring/Wear

We recommend you wear outdoor clothes (avoid whites) and some solid shoes as the ground is often covered with dew in the early morning
The temperature in the balloon is the same as on the ground and we move with the breeze there is no wind chill factor
Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
Your camera
The balloon is the ideal platform from which to take pictures of the spectacular scenery

More Information

Complimentary city pick-ups are available from every major motel/hotel within the CBD, however these must be pre-booked so let us know if you require transportation. The meeting point is at Sofi's Lounge, Level 1 of the Sofitel Hotel, an hour before sunrise. Flights operate every weekend, weather permitting. Weekday flights are available but subject to minimum numbers.
