Like no other of its kind the Minjin offers an experience that will leave you wanting more.
The Minjin will find you hanging high amongst the rainforest nestled in the trees ready to soar at speeds of up to 100kms! This is definitely for all the family and a great way to share some adventure on your trip to Cairns and a the beautiful World Heritage Rainforest.

Legend has it that the Minjin used to roam these hill-slopes in the lean body of a mountain devil, a vicious cat-like creature....

Today it roars in the shape of the Jungle Swing, at speeds of up to 100 kph. Stainless steel cables have taken the place of animal cunning, the spotted hide has made way for hang-gliding harnesses and the evil eyes are now brightly coloured lights... gravity provides the charge, which is wild and very real!
Once you get your harness on (similar to a hang-gliding harness), the Swing Operator hooks you to the rack (either by yourself or with 1 or 2 friends). You are then winched to 40m above the rainforest canopy. The Swing Operator will signal when it is time to pull the release cable. Gravity then takes over and the fun begins.

One, two or three people at a time can face the challenge of the Minjin - and legend further has it ... that anyone who enjoys the experience of the Minjin will live a charmed life. The evil karma of the Minjin has gone forever, but the good fortune of it's symbol will remain.

My oldest son (23) was 'pumped' he said it was totally worth it, he had a second go and bought the photos on memory stick and rec'd a t shirt. My younger son(15) was not impressed and did not want to go on swing so my son-in-law did (19) he was equally 'pumped', They had a lot of fun. My husband took a lot of photos which were excellent and much better than the blurred ones on the memory stick. Next we will be booking white water rafting for my 15yo son through Adrenalin. Fitness and Experience

No age limit applies provided you meet minimum height and weight requirements.
All participants under 18 must have parental/guardian consent
You are unable to participate if you are pregnant
If you have any medical conditions - eg High Blood Pressure, Heart Conditions, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Dislocations, Neurological Disorders, Vertigo etc you must tell us about this at the time of your booking - please note this list is not exhaustive, so if in doubt speak to your doctor and inform us of your situation so that we can make arragements if possible.
You must be at least 55kg and 120cm tall to ride the Minjin swing solo. (if you are under 55kg but over 120cm you will need to join another person on the swing)
Maximum ride weight for the Minjin swing is 150kg per person or 240kg in total for up to 3 persons.

What to Bring/Wear

Wear comfortable clothing suitable to the weather on the day
Sturdy closed in shoes (Runners or Joggers are ideal)

What is Supplied

All Jungle Swing equipment and safety gear
Professional crew overseeing all swing preparations
You will receive a certificate and a photo at the end of your Jungle Swing

More Information

When and where can I jump?
The Minjin Jungle swing is located 15 km north of the city in the foothills of Saddle Mountain. It is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest with panoramic views out to Green Island, The Northern Beaches & The Great Barrier Reef.

The swing is open everyday from 10.00am till 5.00 PM.

What about transport?
The air-conditioned Bungy Bus provides transport from all accommodation houses.
Return transfers from Cairns and the Northern Beaches are free for participants. Situated near the James Cook University, the Bungy Tower is easy to find and get to, even by own car or public transport.

What about photos/videos?
Video and DVD are available for purchase on the day.
