Penguin Cruise Shoalwater An exhilarating 90 minute cruise to see wild dolphins, sea lions and the ruggedly spectacular Shoalwater Islands Marine Park (45 minutes south of Perth) on our fast & exciting eco- adventure boat before concluding on Penguin Island in time to see the penguin feeding at the Discovery Centre.

Although the exciting ride on our eco- adventure boat will get your adrenalin pumping, the star attractions of this cruise are the wildlife. Shoalwater is home to over 200 local dolphins that this cruise has been visiting for over the past 20 years. You may see mothers looking after new calves, learn how they use stingrays to catch their dinner or watch them ‘tail slapping for baitfish’.

Some days, the dolphins are natural performers and playfully approach our boat to greet their visitors. Other days, the boat may quietly sneak alongside and show you how they sleep! Every cruise is unique and it is always a privilege to see these fascinating creatures in their natural environment. The cruise returns past Seal Island to visit rare Australian Sea Lions and take advantage of any other wildlife viewing opportunities. Regular sightings include pelicans, ospreys, stingrays, cormorants, terns and more.

The cruise concludes on beautiful Penguin Island, home to WA’s largest colony of little penguins, and includes entry to the Discovery Centre to see the penguin feeding show hosted by an island ranger. You then have free time to explore and enjoy this unique A class nature reserve. Swim, snorkel (bring your own equipment), explore the nature trails or enjoy a picnic before catching the 5 minute return ferry to the mainland at 1.10pm, 2.10pm, 3.10pm or 4pm.

It is so great being able to see the animals in their natural environment and the staff dis everything they could to make the day more enjoyable! I can't wait to go back and spend mire time on the island!
