Paddle the unspoilt shores of Fitzroy Island in this one-day sea kayak and island adventure. The island is covered in lush rainforest that descends dramatically into crystal clear water, where tropical fish present a rainbow of colour through the coral surrounding the island. Your adventure begins on the Fitzroy Flyer catamaran. The catamaran departs from Marlin Jetty, reef fleet terminal, Cairns and takes just 45 minutes to arrive on beautiful Fitzroy Island. From here we embark on your guided sea kayaking tour taking you to unspoilt areas of Fitzroy Island, which are only accessible by water. After your 3 hour kayak tour the afternoon is yours to go for a snorkel among the tropical fish and colourful coral or just laze around in the sun. It's then back to Fitzroy Island for your departure back to Cairns. A relaxing day not to be missed!!!!! NB: The trip leader may change the type of craft dependant on weather conditions to an outrigger canoe and the sea kayak route may vary subject to weather conditions and safety requirements.

Fitness and Experience

This sea kayak adventure offers a truly unique and memorable experience for people of all paddling capabilities and interests
We aim all the trips at first timers - as we believe a "sense of adventure" is more important than having any experience
No kayaking experience is required as we can ease first timers into the more stable kayaks until confidence and skills increase
Minimum age is 8 years
You do need to be confident around water and for your own safety, please ensure that you make mention of any medical conditions upon booking

When and where can I paddle? The trip departs daily ex Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal at 9:00am and returns to Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal 6.00pm. You will be sea kayaking for approximately 3 hours. Child must be a min 8 years old, accompanied by an adult 18yrs+ and ride in the kayak with the adult.
