Your experience begins with a short discussion on the format for the half day experience, including the distance expected to paddle and weather conditions. You are then kitted up with a PFD, spray deck, paddle jacket, thermals and a paddle before the all important Kayak safety briefing including a dry capsize drill. Most sea kayaks are double sea kayaks (Pittaraks) with a couple of single kayaks available for the more experienced paddlers in the group.

This kayak tour is a half day sampler of what sea kayaking is all about. Both morning and afternoon trips are available. St Kilda is a lively coastal Melbourne town that is great to see from your kayak. Observe the cityscape, paddle close to yachts and ferries while taking in views to St Kilda. 

There are plenty of opportunities at the end of the kayak tour to visit one of many inner city restaurants along the coast for lunch or dinner; so why not make a day of it!
