Surfing, Learn to Surf at Maroubra Beach - Sydney

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to ride a wave? Are you keen on the idea of surfing? Now you can get a taste of surfing at Maroubra Beach. Maroubra is recognised as a National Surfing Reserve, offering great waves on one of Sydney’s last unspoilt city beaches. It is a mix between city life and untouched coastal scenery. Your two hour surf session will cover the basics of riding a surfboard and how to catch a wave, surf awareness and ocean conditions (rips, currents, tides). The focus is to introduce the beginner surfer to the pure thrill and addiction of surfing a great wave but also to educate students on the dangers of swimming and surfing in the ocean and the importance of fitness and safety. Your instructor will start your lesson by checking the surf conditions with you and lead into a warm up to prepare your body for a session of surfing fun, entertainment and improvement. All lessons are taught by expert Surf Schools Association of Australia (SSAA) and Surfing Australia approved surf coaches. They will provide you with a professional and friendly surfing experience. All lessons - beginners through to pro - progress through the skills of surfing according to the students' abilities and previous experience.
