Swim with the playful sea lions of South Australia! Swimming and interacting with the sea lions is very much like our swimming with seals experience, where you interact with these "friendly puppies of the sea". Our sea lion swim is truly one of the things to try before you die - swimming with seals and sealions is an incredible experience!

Setting off early, you'll take the 1.5hr trip to the calm, sheltered waters of Hopkins Island where you'll be met by the friendly (and fishy) locals! The sea lions love to play and actually swim right up to the back of the boat, eager for you to jump in and join the fun. You'll have 90 minutes to frolic with these incredibly friendly animals. Note that the sea lions prefer to hang around with you if you're fairly active - so don't be afraid to get wet and get moving!

Morning tea will be served before heading back to Boston Bay where we visit the tuna farm to go swimming with the Mighty Bluefin Tuna, hand feed these magnificant fish, or simply view from our underwater platform. There's plently of room to stretch out and snooze on the return journey, or you can keep an eye out for the varied wildlife, spot dolphins or just laze around and watch the comings and goings of the historic Port Lincoln tuna fleet.

Fitness and Experience

If you don't want to get in the water, non-swimming spaces are available for $150
You must be comfortable in the water
Those under 16 must be accompanied in the water by a full paying parent or guardian

Bring a camera!
Hat and long sleeves recommended
Please wait until after your swim to apply sunscreen - it is destructive to the marine habitat

More Information

All tours are weather permitting and subject to minimum numbers: Minimum of 5 and maximum of 18 per group. In the case of poor weather conditions we will reschedule your experience for a later date. Departs Marina Hotel, Port Lincoln 8am on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays or on demand.
