Nothing shakes the body like the roar of a V8 race car, and nothing stirs the soul more than a session of hot laps in a track-prepared V8 six-speed Commodore or Monaro around Sydney's V8 race track, Eastern Creek Raceway.

The V8 drive day begins with a briefing conducted by experienced race drivers. During practical observation laps of the circuit, your driver will demonstrate techniques on cornering, apexes and exiting, efficient braking and acceleration, steering, gear changes and general car control. Safety and track awareness will also be discussed. There's plenty of time to ask questions so you'll feel completely comfortable before putting V8 race car theory into practice.

Then it's time to let loose your inner revhead during a session of real life V8 driving action. Each driver does six full-pelt laps behind the wheel of their V8 Commodore or Monaro. Then, just when you reckon you can drive a V8 like Mark Skaife, your experienced race driver will take control again for three more seriously quick V8 hot laps that you're not likely to forget for a very long time. At Eastern Creek to get the most out of your time at the track, you'll be driving on the short course to make learning the corners, apex and braking points a great deal faster. This means you spend your time concentrating on enjoying driving these powerful beasts, rather than learning the circuit.

This is the second time I've been, I did the 6 laps this time (10 laps the first time with no hot laps) and driving at around 200kph down the straight is totally awsome. I recommend the extra 2 hot laps to anyone who does this. If you think you have driven fast think again, I could not stop smiling and have a true respect for race car drivers after those 2 hot laps.

fitness and experience

For the V8 drive experience you must have a current drivers license and experience in a manual transmission car
No real fitness is required but if you have any medical concerns or dietary restrictions, please advise us as soon as possible so that we may accommodate you
There may be blood alcohol tests on the day. Anyone found to be over 0.00% will not be permitted to participate

what to bring/wear

You must bring your drivers license on the day
Wear clothes appropriate for weather on the day
Wear a comfortable pair of enclosed shoes
Bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses on hot sunny days
Definitely bring your camera
