Nothing shakes the body like the roar of a V8 race car, and nothing stirs the soul more than a session of hot laps in a V8 VX six-speed Commodore around Launceston's race track, Symmons Plains Raceway.

The V8 drive day begins with a briefing conducted by experienced race drivers. During practical observation laps of the circuit, your driver will demonstrate techniques on cornering, apexes and exiting, efficient braking and acceleration, steering, gear changes and general car control. Safety and track awareness will also be discussed. There's plenty of time to ask questions so you'll feel completely comfortable before putting V8 race car theory into practice.

Then it's time to let loose your inner revhead during a session of real life V8 driving action. Each driver then does ten full-pelt laps behind the wheel of their V8 Commodore. Then, just when you reckon you can drive a V8 like Mark Skaife, your experienced race driver will take control again for three more seriously quick V8 hot laps that you're not likely to forget for a very long time.

I highly rate v8 Race Car Super Challenge. The instructor and staff were great. I only wish I could have done 20 or even 30 laps, 10 laps went by too quickly. The 3 hot laps were excellent aswell, couldn't wipe the smile off my face.Thanks for the experience "Adrenalin".

The V8 Super Challenge is an awesome experience that no V8 loving person - male or female - should miss. Absolutely adrenalin pumping action. Loved it !!!!! Fitness and Experience

You must be able to fit into a XXXL race suit
For the V8 drive experience you must be 18 years of age and experienced in a manual transmission car
No real fitness is required but if you have any medical concerns or dietary restrictions, please advise us as soon as possible so that we may accommodate you
Fastrack may test blood alcohol levels if they deem necessary. Anyone found to be over 0.00% will not be permitted to participate

What to Bring/Wear

Wear clothes appropriate for weather on the day
Wear a comfortable pair of enclosed shoes
Bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses on hot sunny days
Definitely bring your camera

Alcohol:
0.00% blood alcohol level is mandatory. No alcohol is to be brought to the track. You are asked to advise the operator of any medical conditions including any medication you may be taking. This is not a suitable activity for drivers who are pregnant. Drivers must be 18 years or older and have a current or Provisional licence. The race vehicles use a manual gearbox and drivers without a manual driver’s licence would find it extremely difficult to operate these vehicles.
Drivers exceeding 130kg in weight cannot be safely or comfortably accommodated in the race suits and cars.

Session Length:
Allow 3 hours from your booking commencement time for the completion of your experience.
Times: 8:15am, 10:45am, 1:15pm

Numbers:
The event hosts a large number of participants commencing at 8:15a.m. and usually concluding around 5p.m. You will be given a booking time and you should arrive 15 minutes before to register and complete an Indemnity Form.

Spectators:
Spectators are welcome to attend and take in the action. All attendees must adhere to Race Track safety regulations.

Availability:
We recommend you book as early as possible as the Race Days are generally booked out well in advance.

You can even organize an in-car DVD of their race experience on the day for a further $125.
