    Sydney Whale Watching

3.5 hour Whale Watching cruises Depart from Darling Harbour, Sydney and pass many of Sydney’s famous landmarks on our way out the Heads to take you whale watching. On weekends the Harbour is alive with colourful sailing boats and your cruise will take you past Luna Park, the Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House, Kirribilli House, Fort Dennison, Bradley’s Head and the waterfront mansions of Point Piper! Once out past Sydney Heads the fun really begins as we search for the wonderful Humpback Whales migrating past.

Each year thousands of Humpback Whales migrate along the East coast of Australia. They migrate from their summer feeding grounds in Antarctica to their breeding grounds in Queensland's Coral Sea. This brings them past Sydney during the months May, June, July and August. Witnessing their amazing size and majesty up close should be on everyone's must-do list!

With a little help from our land based spotters we will hopefully have you with the whales in no time at all. The majority of the whales migrating past are Humpback whales but you may also have the chance to see other whales like Southern Rights, Minkes, Bryde’s, Blue and Orcas and marine life like dolphins, sea turtles, Australian Fur Seals, a bounty of sea birds and more from the boat.

Our Skippers are very experienced and have a deep love and knowledge of the whales. They enjoying sharing their passion for whales and are always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Whilst all efforts will be made to ensure that your whale experience is an enjoyable one it is important to remember that these whales are wild animals. They do not perform on cue! A range of whale behaviours may be viewed including fluke up dives, tail slapping, pectoral fin slapping, spy hopping, breaching, tail throws. We are committed to minimising the disturbance that our whale watching cruises make to the whales we are watching.

The vessel: Join us aboard MV True Blue, a custom-built 16 metre Super Sea Cat with three unobstructed 360 degree viewing decks. She has comfortable indoor lounge cabin seating as well as outdoor seating and complete walk around lower decks allowing you to get so much closer to the whales. The upper deck offers a great vantage point for photographers.
