Rafting on the Nymboida River (or Nymbo as it’s known to river guides) is certain to entertain the complete novice as well as experienced white water warriors. Nymboida River rafting is rated moderate to challenging offering mainly grade 3 and 4 rapids. In times of high waters a couple of grade 5’s stints will test your courage! This 9km white water adventure unravels within the magnificent wilderness country of Nymboi-Binderay National Park, west of Coffs Harbour in Northern NSW (approximately six hours North of Sydney). This sub-tropical environment provides everything from powerful, rushing rapids to quietened, calm pools where you can swim and appreciate nature.

Before leaving the riverbank and flicking the action switch on, your knowledgeable and experienced guides will take some time out to teach you the basics over breakfast – including a safety briefing, paddling techniques, what to do if you fall out of the raft and how to create the best splash in the water wars against the other rafts. The rules of white water rafting are simple and will be enforced during the day for your safety and to help build confidence within your team of rafting enthusiasts.

This full day of white water, adrenalin pumping action begins at 6.45am and will have you returning to town happily exhausted around 5.30pm depending on the day and river levels. Breakfast and BBQ lunch are included.

Our family of 3 had a great day doing something many people have never experienced. The scenery was spectacular. We even got to see a 6 foot carpet snake in the wild which we haven't seen in decades. The staff were far more than helpful. They genuinely took care of all our needs, even providing a much needed barbeque at the completion of the trek. When we are back in this area, we will definately be looking to white water raft again. Thank you to everyone who made this possible for our family. (We had to travel this far to do this as the Snowy River in the State we live in has been too shallow for years to white water raft).

More Information

Trips leave from Central Coffs, or we are able to pick up from most accommodation. Let us know where you're staying on your booking form and we'll let you know whether we can pick you up.

Provided the river levels are sufficient to provide fun-filled, safe rafting, we run rafting trips most weekends. If you have a group of adventurous friends we may be able to organise a weekday expedition for you.

If you are travelling a long way to take part in this adventure, there are alternative activities that you can do if the water levels are too low to raft. These include surf rafting, river kayaking, sea kayaking, surfing or platypus tours.

Rapids are graded from 1-6, with 1 being easiest and grade 5 being the highest grade permitted for commercial rafting groups.
