This action-packed introduction to white water rafting takes place under the friendly guidance of highly trained white water rafting guides. All trips begin with a safety briefing followed by flat water instruction before venturing onto the turbulent white water.
Penrith Whitewater Stadium is the only facility of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. It's a man-made white water river which was the competition venue for the canoe/kayak slalom events during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The course has been constructed using a combination of both natural and man-made material to recreate the characteristics of a natural white water river – perfect for whitewater rafting.
A u-shaped concrete channel varies in width from eight to 14 metres, is 320 metres in length and drops 5.5 metres from top to bottom. A moveable obstacle system allows a variable force of white water to create the perfect whitewater rafting environment. Once you reach the bottom, a brief ride along a conveyor belt brings adrenalin-pumped paddlers back to the top to start whitewater rafting all over again! This package includes a specially designed, high-quality cotton whitewater rafting t-shirt.
